A Calhoun Construction IT Manager provides network, server, Windows OS, and Office 365 support as well as perform first-level response to Calhoun employees for IT support calls and email requests.  They will identify issues accurately and consistently while working toward resolution and maintaining a good rapport with Calhoun employees by treating them respectfully and professionally.


Essential functions

  • Serve as first response answering all help desk support calls and addressing Calhoun employees’ IT problems and complaints, escalating items as necessary
  • Maintain and administer computer networks and related computing environments including but not limited to SAN, switches, routers, firewalls, and servers
  • Perform data backups and disaster recovery operations.
  • Plan, coordinate, and implement network security measures to protect data, software, and hardware
  • Document, track, and monitor problems to ensure timely resolution
  • Follow up on recently resolved issues to ensure customer satisfaction
  • Image computers, patch systems, and install software applications
  • Provide technical setup and support of on-site and remote meetings
  • Collaborate with Project Managers, Operation Managers, and approved vendors to design, install, and support technical solutions addressing local network and remote jobsite needs 
  • Maintain process and procedure documentation
  • Maintain accurate equipment inventory and storage
  • Maintain and adhere to all licenses and contracts of IT services and software
  • Maintain knowledge of industry concepts, best practices, and procedures
  • Oversee subcontractors and vendors supporting IT activities and processes
  • Provide data and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) and trends to management
  • Pursue training and education to increase your effectiveness

  • Manage time effectively and prioritize tasks to ensure completion of all duties and tasks assigned

  • Always represent company with professionalism and a commitment to quality

  • Regular and reliable attendance at work

  • Other duties and special projects as assigned by Company Management


Computer Equipment and Software Requirements

  • Microsoft SharePoint and OneDrive support (including creation of document libraries through use of templates and rights management)

  • Microsoft Windows operating systems - advanced knowledge (including installation, configuration, troubleshooting, and support)

  • Microsoft Productivity tools e.g. Microsoft Office (including installation, configuration, troubleshooting, and support)

  • Microsoft Office365 and Azure Active Directory administration (including basic user administration and computer administration)


Physical Requirements

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk, hear, and view a computer monitor.  The employee frequently is required to stand, walk, climb stairs, use hands to finger, handle or feel, and reach with hands and arms

  • Regularly lift and carry typical user computing and network equipment, such as computers, monitors, printers, scanners, peripherals, switches, wireless access points, etc.


Education and Experience Requirements

  • Degree in I.T. or other related field with 3–5 years of relevant work experience
  • Combination of college experience in I.T. and/or relevant work experience (5–7 years) may be considered in lieu of degree.
  • Valid Driver’s License
  • Microsoft certifications a plus

Working Conditions

  • Work is normally performed in a typical interior office work environment with moderate noise

  • Occasionally will be exposed to outside weather conditions visiting project sites for support - due to varied conditions on these occasional visits, IT manager must know the hazards and safety requirements of each job and must wear appropriate personal protective equipment as required by the company’s safety policies for every situation.
