Scholarship Program
The BXKY Scholarship Fund is currently accepting applications for 2026.
The application deadline is January 30th.
The scholarship notification date is March 6th.

Builders Exchange of Kentucky created the Builders Exchange Scholarship Program in 1997.
Who is Eligible?
The Builders Exchange of Kentucky Scholarship program is open to full-time students entering their freshman, sophomore, junior, or senior year of an accredited college or university pursuing either a two or four year undergraduate degree.
Eligible applicants include:
- Children, Grandchildren, and Spouses of employees of exchange member firms
- Employees of exchange member firms
- Children, Grandchildren, and Spouses of exchange staff members
What are the Criteria?
- Academic achievement and standing
- Extracurricular activities
- Community involvement
- Work history
- Oral and written communication skills
- Attitude
- Other pursuits and interest
What is it worth?
- The awards are worth $2,000 annually for a total of up to $8,000 over four years if the full-time undergraduate maintains the equivalent of a 3.25 GPA on a 4.0 GPA scale.
The John D. Kelly Scholarship Award
- John Kelly was our executive vice president for over 40 years. He was revered by all for his integrity and dedication to excellence in the construction field. John left an indelible footprint on our industry and is greatly missed to this day. We lovingly dedicate this special scholarship award in his memory.
- Preference will be given to those whose major is in either architecture, construction, or the engineering fields only.
- An additional $2,000 will be rewarded to a select scholarship winner.
